Bashundhara Industrial Complex Limited has signed an agreement with Exelon Bangladesh Limited to set up a solar energy system on its rooftop in order to make the industry environment-friendly.
Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Managing Director of Bashundhara Group and DM Abu Bakar Siddique, Managing Director of Exelon Bangladesh Limited signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations at Bashundhara Industrial Headquarters-1 in the city on Thursday.
Under the solar energy project, about 6,560 high-powered mono crystal panels and first-class inverters over will be set up the 20,000 square feet space to generate quality solar energy.
This solar project will generate around 2.83 million unit of electricity in echo-friendly way. The panel will help the country get rid of about 2647 tonnes of carbon annually that may be emitted by traditional power plant while generation such volume of electricity.
Alongside generating renewable energy, Bashundhara Industrial Complex will be an environment-friendly, carbon-free industry.
Bashundhara Group has nominated Exelon Bangladesh Limited to implement the project which will be financed by Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL).
Among others, top officials of Bashundhara Group and Exelon Bangladesh Limited were also present on the occasion.
