The Bashundhara Cup Golf Tournament-2023 is underway amid festivity at Bhatiary Golf and Country Club (BGCC) in Chattogram.
ABG Bashundhara Director Mostafa Azad Mohiuddin inaugurated the colourful tournament by releasing balloons on Friday morning.
7ADA Brigade Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Sohrab Hossain Bhuiyan, Colonel Imrul, Major (retd) Emdadul Islam, BGCC Executive Officer Major (retd) Md Mokaddes Hossain, and Rubaiyat Tanvir attended the inaugural ceremony among others.
Addressing the session, ABG Bashundhara Director Mostafa Azad Mohiuddin said Bashundhara has been patronising golf in the country for long.
“We have the television channel T- Sports and more people will be encouraged regarding golf if we can broadcast the contents of it,” he observed.
Putting up the arrangement of Asian Golf in Kurmitola, the director assured an all-out support in the coming days.
Replying to a query, he said, “We have a close relationship with Chattogram. We became a strategic partner of Chattogram Stock Exchange and will work more closely in the future.”
Around 250 golfers are taking part in the senior, lady, and junior categories in the tournament.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 24 Infantry Division, Chattogram Area Commander and BGCC President Major General Mohammad Shaheenul Haque will attend the prize-giving ceremony as the chief guest in the evening.
