 
                            
                            Country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group (BG) has received two prequalification licenses Thursday to set up two separate economic zones at Keraniganj in Dhaka.
Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) executive chairman (secretary) Paban Chowdhury handed over the licenses to Bashundhara Group advisor Major General (retd) Mahbub Haider Khan at BEZA office in city’s Karwan Bazar area.
The licenses are given for setting up of ‘Bashundhara Special Economic Zone Limited’ and ‘East-West Special Economic Zone Limited’ at South Keraniganj thana.
However, businesspeople will get opportunity to invest in petrochemical industries, LPG cylinder manufacturing, food and beverage, ship building, steel and steel products industries, specialized hospitals, educational institutions, international standard hotels and restaurants, ICT and other sectors.
