India’s West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vice-President Krishna Bhattacharya greeted Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir with a bouquet at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata on Thursday.
Bangladesh Pratidin Editor and CEO of private television channel News24 Naem Nizam accompanied him during the visit.
While welcoming Sayem Sobhan at the airport, Krishna Bhattacharya said, “My ancestral home is in Chattogram of Bangladesh. That’s the reason why I love Bangladesh.”
Earlier in 2017, Sayem Sobhan Anvir received India’s most prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards-2017. He has been given the award for the outstanding contribution of the country’s leading business conglomerate to the mass media, social service and sports.
Sayem Sobhan is the first Bangladeshi to receive such an iconic award.
