Marriott Hotel, a US-based worldwide operator of a chain of franchised hotels and related lodging facilities, is going to set up a five-star hotel in the posh Bashundhara Residential Area of the capital.
The authorities concerned hope the world-class speciality hotel will be inaugurated by the end of 2015.
There will be 300 rooms in the hotel with international-standard facilities, new to the hospitality industry of the country.
After a thorough reconnaissance, Marriott has finally approved the immaculate location along the 300-foot road running along Bashundhara that complements the image echoing with its brand.
The natural beauty, serenity and tranquil aura of Bashundhara are few features that met the extraordinary standard Marriott was looking for.
Founded by J Willard Marriott, Marriott International is now led by his son JW (Bill) Marriott, Jr.
Today, Marriott International has more than 3,700 properties in over 73 countries and territories around the world.
A class of its own, Bashundhara’s skyline will soon be bejewelled by the silhouette of a world-standard marvel of human achievement — the five-star wonders of Marriott.
